Everyone deserves to have some peace and tranquility in their life. Unfortunately things don't always seem to turn out that way. Whether you are feeling depressed or anxious, dealing with life stressors, in the midst of divorce or separation, are a veteran, or dealing with chronic illness, counseling can help when life just isn't going as planned.
Counseling isn't about something being wrong with you; its an opportunity to sort through tough times, rediscover your strengths, and to learn new skills and tools for coping. As a solution-focused therapist my goal is to help you discover your strengths and to use these to have a fulfilling and meaningful life. While we can’t change the past, we can work together to better understand and address the challenges of today. The majority of my work is based in Cognitive Behavioral Theory. Different counseling approaches and mindfulness exercises may be used depending on you and your situation. Ultimately, we work together to reach your goals.
Starting therapy is a very personal decision and having the right therapist is a key part of the process. I invite you to contact me for a free telephonic consultation. This will offer you an opportunity to learn more about my background, philosophy and therapeutic approach. I will ask similar questions about what brings you to therapy. Together we will discuss how I may help you meet your goals and if you feel comfortable with me as your therapist.
